Our vision to connect trail networks nationwide is gaining momentum. The U.S. House of Representatives reintroduced the Connecting America’s Active Transportation System Act. Now, we need your help to get it across the finish line.
This bill—already introduced in the Senate (S.684) with bipartisan support—provides the dedicated, focused funding necessary to quickly create networks of equitable, safe, convenient walking and biking routes that get people where they need to go.
Connecting America’s Active Transportation System Act is a critical missing link in our federal transportation policy, and it is what’s needed to address significant challenges facing our economy, climate, health and transportation safety. It provides $500 million per year in dedicated funding to build connected active-transportation systems within and between urban, suburban and rural communities.
Take action now: Tell your U.S. Representative to make wise investments in trails, walking and biking in the next transportation bill by signing on to be a cosponsor of the Connecting America’s Active Transportation System Act (H.R.2991). Personalized messages work best. Be sure to tell your representative why connected trail and active transportation networks are important to you.
